Intimate Elopement at Garden of the Gods
Aleah and Lane chose to celebrate their marriage in a way that felt simple, intentional, and completely true to them by having an intimate elopement at Garden of the Gods. Their day was quiet and full of meaning, set against the stunning backdrop of Colorado Springs. From a cozy Airbnb at the base of Pikes Peak to the dramatic red rocks of Garden of the Gods and ending with chic portraits at Orman Mansion, every part of their elopement reflected the things they valued most: their faith, each other, and the ones they love most.

Getting Ready in the Foothills
The day started slowly at a little Airbnb tucked into the foothills of the Pikes Peak mountain range. With soft mountain light coming through the windows, Aleah and Lane got ready separately with their wedding parties, each taking time to soak in the stillness before the day began. It was calm, cozy,
and set the tone for everything that followed.
First Look & Private Vows
When it was time for their first look, they met among the beautiful towering red rock formations of Garden of the Gods. The moment was quiet and full of emotion—just the two of them seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. They also exchanged private vows, words they wanted to keep just between themselves, spoken with the mountains standing tall around them. When choosing the specific space to have this private moment they fell completely in love with the tall red rocks and open skies!
Ceremony at the Red Rocks
Their ceremony took place at High Point Overlook, where the red rock cliffs open to sweeping views of the sky and mountains. With rust and soft pink tones woven into their details and florals, the color palette popped beautifully. During the ceremony, Aleah and Lane also celebrated their faith in Jesus—grounding the day in prayer and promises not just to one another, but to Him. The combination of their closest family members and their faith made the ceremony feel deeply personal and full of intention.
Evening Portraits & A Private Dinner
We started the evening with couples portraits frolicing around the rock formations and Afterward, they stepped away to share a private dinner together—something they chose to keep unphotographed, but an important part of their day. Later that evening, we met back at Orman Mansion in Pueblo to capture flash portraits in the historic space. Their photos took on a chic, stylish feel that balanced beautifully with the natural tones of their earlier moments in the mountains.
Why Their Day Stood Out
What made Aleah and Lane’s elopement so special was how much it reflected who they are as a couple. Their faith, their intentional choices, and the way they kept the day focused on connection gave everything a sense of meaning. The warm rust and pink tones brought their style to life, the mountains gave them the adventure they wanted, and the evening portraits added a touch of modern elegance. Above all, the day was theirs—and it couldn’t have been more perfect
Why Garden of the Gods is Perfect for Elopements
Garden of the Gods is one of Colorado’s most iconic landscapes, and it’s also one of the most accessible places for couples who want to elope outdoors. With dramatic red rock formations, mountain views, and plenty of tucked-away corners, it offers both adventure and intimacy.
Address: Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center 1805 N. 30th St.Colorado Springs, CO 80904
Permits: The best part about eloping here is that no permits or fees are required for a small ceremony or photos, as long as you don’t bring in large setups like arches, chairs, or amplified music. This makes it an easy, stress-free option for couples who want a beautiful backdrop without extra red tape.
Parking: The park has several free parking lots spread throughout, including lots near the Visitor Center, High Point Overlook, and Central Garden. Since Garden of the Gods is popular year-round, it’s best to plan ceremonies around sunrise or sunset for both privacy and easier parking.
Popular Spots in the Park
Some of the most-loved locations for ceremonies and photos inside Garden of the Gods include:
High Point Overlook – Wide, sweeping views of both the red rocks and Pikes Peak.
South Garden – Easy access with towering sandstone formations all around.
Central Garden Trail – A flat, accessible trail with some of the most dramatic formations.
Ridge Trail – A short hike with more privacy and gorgeous overlooks.
Eloping at Pikes Peak
Another unforgettable option nearby is Pikes Peak, often called “America’s Mountain.” Couples can drive the scenic highway to the summit for their ceremony or plan portraits along the way at one of the many overlooks. The mountain offers incredible sunrise and sunset views, though couples should plan for chilly weather at the top no matter the season.
Permits: Like Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak does not require a special wedding permit for small ceremonies or photos. As long as you keep your celebration simple (no large setups or amplified sound), you’re free to exchange vows at the summit or at scenic stops along the road.
Parking & Entry: To access Pikes Peak, couples and guests will need to pay the Pikes Peak Highway entrance fee (per person or per vehicle, depending on group size). Parking is available at the summit and at designated scenic pull-offs along the drive. Because space at the top can fill up during busy summer months, it’s best to plan for early morning or weekday ceremonies.

Orman Mansion in Pueblo
For couples looking to add a bit of history and elegance to their day, Orman Mansion is a beautiful option. Built in the late 1800s, it offers a mix of historic charm and chic character—perfect for portraits, receptions, or simply ending the day with a unique setting. Booking typically happens directly through the venue, and couples can reserve spaces for events, overnights, or photography sessions.
Staying Local: Airbnbs and Accommodations
For couples (and guests) looking to stay close to the action, there are dozens of cozy Airbnb cabins and mountain homes around Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. Many are nestled in the foothills near Pikes Peak, offering easy access to both Garden of the Gods and the mountain itself. These spaces not only provide a beautiful getting-ready backdrop but also keep the atmosphere intimate and relaxed.
